2022:

  • The Anders Jahre Culture Award - Norway’s biggest honor for outstanding cultural effort.

  • The Chicken & Egg Award - This program recognizes and elevates six women and gender nonconforming directors at advanced stages of their careers with unique voices who are poised to reach new heights and become strong filmmaker-advocates for urgent issues.

2021:

  • The Tora Mostrastong Award - Awarded to women who over time have shown great will and ability to make a positive contribution to society.

2013:

  • Zola Award

  • The Fredrikke Prize - Filmmaker and debater Margreth Olin (42) is rewarded the Fredrikke-price of 2013 for directing the spotlight on the weaknesses of our welfare society.

  • The Vesleblakken Prize - 14. juli 2013, Margreth Olin is awarded the Vesleblakkenprice 2013 for her selfless effort to help others.

  • Arne Skouens Honorary Award - The purpose of the Arne Skouens Honorary Award is to appreciate the significant endeavour for Norwegian film culture. The award is a collaboration between Norwegian Film Institute, Oslo Kino og SF Norway and is a scholarship of 100,000 kroner. Arne Skouen's honorary prize is awarded every other year. Olin is the eleventh winner.


2012:

  • Edith Carlmar Award - The award was established to honor Norway's first female film director Edith Carlmar and will be awarded to a female film artist, who have shown integrity, fearless ability to innovate and willingness to break boundaries. The prize is awarded with support from the Norwegian Film Institute and is a scholarship of NOK 20,000 and a work of art.

2010:

  • Liv Ullman Honorary Award - The honorary prize is awarded every other year to a female film artist who has developed a special talent and an artistic commitment to Norwegian film or television drama.. The jury believes that Olin has sharp and fundamental questions as her main strength, and that she makes personal, confidant and stylish films.

  • The Amnesty Prize - She is a real activist, the jury writes in the justification for Margreth Olin receiving the Amnesia Prize this year. An award that for the sixth year in a row honors people who have helped to inform or create a broad debate on human rights issues.

    – In all her work, she has highlighted the situation for the vulnerable in society, and she has protested against the authorities' treatment of individuals and groups. She tells moving stories about peoples hardships, difficulties and poor conditions in their own lives. And she often uses herself and her stories to highlight vulnerability and create dialogue, writes the jury.

2009:

  • The Equalitas Prize - Given by Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud.

  • The Jonas Prize - Given by the University of Oslo, Institute for special needs. Given to Margreth Olin because she has given important contribution in the Norwegian society to develop tolerance and ability to appreciate differences.

2003:

  • Aamot-Statuette - (Honorary Noregian Film Award) given by Film&Kino (the Norwegian Film and Cinema Foundation) for an outstanding achievement in Norwegian Film.

  • Ole Vig-Prize - Given by the national teacher-organication Utdanningsforbundet. For all her films, her insight and inspiring thoughts.

  • Feminist of the Year Award - Given by RadiOrakel, Oslo. For the film My Body and her participation in the media-debate that followed the film.

  • Festival Artist - Dei Nynorske Festspela.

1999:

  • Årets IIR-Taler - (Best Speach of the Year) given by Institute for International Research for her lectures given when she traveled with her film In the House of Angels, speaking about the care for elderly people.
